Just hear about an interesting program for the quilting members of the family. It is a program called quilt for kids sponsored by Downy which supplies quilts for hospitalized kids. Go to www.quiltsforkids.org/volunteer and click on order a kit. You get the squares and backing to create a quilt (you need to supply batting) and send the quilt back to them - they request the quilt be finished within 6 weeks. If you have a quilting group you can order multiple kits.

This sounds like a fun family project. For all you quilters or wannabes, what do you think about ordering a bunch and sewing them up? This could be fun and will be easy, with all the experts in this family. Jess, are you in?

Never mind. I checked out the site and the quilts have to be quilted very snugly instead of tied. I don't have the capability for that.

I am going to look at the quilt a friend made for the group. I have a quilting attachment for my machine and Mom's might too. She says she just quilts them on her regular machine - and I think they are a small size. Will let you know more.
