The Baby Explosion

Hard to even keep count, the numbers of future Gavetts keep growing!   Waiting in anticipation for Baby Boy Alvarez (next week!);  Baby Boy AND Baby Girl for Becky and Ezra in the middle of November; Baby Boy Wood expected in March.  Keep thoughts and prayers for healthy babies.

Sunday, Dave, Drew, Emmy, and Thom picked and quickly devoured the first few blueberries of this years crop. Tomorrow, or as I look at the time it will be later this morning, I should be able to pick our first pint. No more frozen berries on my morning cereal for the next several months. Except for the blueberries and some late grapes, this year's fruit production looks like slim pickings.

I saw a "midnight" black squirrel a few days ago. Totally dark black, not even a lighter shade on its face or stomach. I believe this spotting is a first for me. If I only possessed a memory...

Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday Jen!  Wished for sunshine for you, but I don't have much credence with the weather gods.

I wasn't able in sign in the new and easy way but was able to use an old email address and it's corresponding password to reach the composing stage. Now the obvious question, will my latest foray onto this blog post? I hate it when I finish typing what I believe to be a somewhat witty, though admitting dry, few lines and then I hit the "Publish" button and publish does not happen. Either the post is blank or I'm taken to a page of questions asking what would I like to do. Whatever I choose, my selection gets me to places of which I know nothing of. But from what I'm led to believe, me knowing almost nothing about something is commonplace with me, more so with each of my passing birthdays.

I send my and Jane's love to Sonja and Lindlay on the passing of Lindlay's father.

Bitter cold with biting winds dig deep into every limb.
Why then stand there accepting it's cruel wrath?
Your seemingly endless stare fixed upward thru the black night.
Spying but a faint twinkle way beyond the brightest stars.
It's light becoming bolder with an ever warming feel.

Sally
As you chose not to take my phone call for your birthday wishes I shall try again tomorrow. To bad you won't trust me with your cell phone number. Coming back from the south into our chilling weather must be exhilarating. Where ever you are a warm Happy Birthday to you.

Love to all
Jane and Skip
