Well Mom, you handled it for many years but for the next couple of nights Jane will have the six young-uns, ages 6, 4, 2, 2, 1, and 5 months?, staying here. We are taking bets as to whether she can handle it. I will be in my workshop but I've offered to take Dave and Drew for a few hours at a time.

Milking Machine

The Tired Iron Tractor Museum down the road is being auctioned off so we visited yesterday for a last look at an amazing collection showing the ingenuity of our forebears.  This 1898 milking machine is my favorite.  I can picture a woman escaping household tasks like cooking and laundry as she sneaks a book to the barn and reads while pushing the pedals to milk her two cows at the same time.
