I recommend you check out raptorresource.org - and view the eagles on their nest with the bird cam. We've been waiting all day for the eggs to hatch.

Any framer's daughter should know an eagle egg(or any other bird egg) only hatches at night if it senses it's being watched. With an estimated million and half people watching this nest how can the eggs not get the feeling of being spied upon. Give the poor eggs a break!(what a pun!)

Or a farmer's daughter, as the case may be.

Well, the first birds was hatched this afternoon and the adults had a dead rabbit just waiting on the nest. It was pretty bloody, but we watched the feeding. I am a framers daughter in awe.

The feeding is quite a sight!

Did you ever think of how stinky it must be up there with all that dead meat?

Seems as though the eagles would get fresh food as their supply deteriorated. Maybe its been cool enough to keep it fairly fresh.
